It is really just the vocals that are bothering me. But they really bother me.

Agreed. It’s like Ed smoked two packs of unfiltered cigarettes an hour before walking into the booth. Perhaps his weakest studio performance
there is no way this is his weakest studio performance
yeah this is baffling to me. I get not liking the vocal melody, but he sounds good
He most certainly does not
Yeah, his voice sounds wrecked on this. I have no idea what people who are saying this is an improvement over the last however many years are hearing.
Maybe that he’s back on the mix more?

All Night - this is fantastic. Don't hear any SBWM here.
Johnny Guitar - gets better every year, great for modern Pearl Jam. SBWM has a similar feel to it.
Black, Red, Yellow - this is the song LTRP wish it was. No SBWM here.
Olë - poor Ed performance. Song sounds rushed, like a poor version of MYM. No SBWM here.
Supersonic - not hearing SBWM here. Song is too frantic. Good melody gets crushed by the band and some poor lyrics. A shame.
Hitchiker - another LTRP/BRY-ish song. Kind of rolls and boogies. Ed has a very distinct vocal. Typical of the times it was made, yet I can see how his delivery can be compared to SBWM.
Leatherman - one of the worst Pearl Jam songs. No SBWM here.
Superblood Wolfmoon - better than most of the songs above.
I like Leatherman

I've got news for you, buddy. They do it because they can. And this is one of the extents of their talent at work.

They're in their 50s now. Creative energy is usually gone in most people by their age. The fact that they're making music and seem to have a renewed passion with this album is better than we should expect by now.
'They do it because they can'.

Thanks for the info, buddy.

They're starting to destroy their own legacy.
Starting to destroy?

Have you listened to the last 3 albums?
Can't deny me, Olé, Dotc and Superblood Wolfmoon.

Their last 4 published songs.

Dramatic.

No joke, I think I would take every single one of those songs over "Superblood Wolfmoon", which just seems ineptly written to me

The only one that gives me pause is "Supersonic"

I do too.

The full SBWF delivery feels like Johnny G. after two listens, but with rasping in place of singing.

Umm, Get Right and BRY are top tier Pearl Jam songs. SBWM is not even close to those.

The teaser clip could've been explored more from its appearance through to the end. Sort of how Big Wave does what it does until it fades.
