Nowhere near the best show ever. But I enjoyed it verymuch. Despite how much the general reaction to the finale is pissing me off.

Still, very much looking forward to Season 2.

gonna say the plot fell apart when rust went with marty's wife. the last two episodes were not that well written. but it's put together so well it doesn't even matter.

also, did rust find god in the end? is that what we were supposed to think? his speech was a bit ambiguous.

When you question this writer's plot point, then you question Rust Cohle's decision making. You just don't do that.

He found Dostoevsky's God. Which means that he can't help but believe in, or at least accept, the possibility that something else exists, no matter how hard he tries to uphold his absolute doubts. This usually happens to people that go through spiritual awakenings, traumatic experiences.

pretty sure I have considered lines of reasoning like this in the past. But, right now it makes absolutely no sense to me. Why, couldn't I enjoy parts of the writers work but dislike others?
