Currently reading "The Book Thief" and I'm not really feeling it. Didn't help that it's set pre-WW2 but the first time they talk about WW1 it's called WW1 instead of The Great War. I realize that it could be because of the unreliable narrator but it took me out of it, especially since there is an effort later to call it The Great War by the characters.

In fairness the narrator is Death though, yeah? So he/she's kinda timeless and all-knowing. I actually really enjoyed the book, in particular the language. Arseloch stays with me still.

I need to read some more cheerful stuff. Even Terry Pratchett's new book is depressing because the affects of his disease are so apparent (they were in the last book, as well)
