Brock's not dead, yo.
Ummm, yeah... poisoning, I meant poisoning.

It's how he connected the dots.

Wait, what? I thought he knew it was the Lilly of the Valley or whatever.
That's what the doc told him. Now he's back to thinking Walt did it with the ricin.
But we know Walt didn't do with ricin.

So does Jesse. All Jesse figured out was that it was Walt that stole (and returned) the Ricin from him to convince him that Gus tried to poison Brock

i actually prefer the writing this way, rather than a quick "flashback" style scene for us to know exactly what jesse's thinking.
Spoiler: show
i thought the use of the tarantula crawling toward jesse was a good reminder of drew sharp. then, his being indifferent toward it was a good reminder for us of jesse's belief that walt is untrustworthy, manipulative and evil (like the whistling after drew sharp's death). jesse then proceeded to call walt out on his bullshit/passive-aggressive act as oppose to just asking jesse for the favor of leaving town. the reminder, rather than realization, of huell's prior pocket picking and it's ramifications, was the last straw. walt has already cost jesse people that he loves (and he only knows of andrea & brock... not jane). now he's being asked to leave town, to disappear so that walt can keep the one's he loves, even though walt's family is the one causing this thing to crumble (hank, who jesse has obvious and clear feelings toward).

i'm now wondering if the white house is abandoned, as we know it to be from the flash forwards, b/c jesse burns it. all the screen grabs i can find don't show fire damage, but they're also very dark rooms. other than that, it's obvious jesse is going to die b/c walt takes on his look with the army jacket, but walt has also killed anybody that's been interrogated by hank (first gus, and then mike).

i loved the confession video, and jesse's breaking from the plan to disappear means walt can pin gale's death on hank too, b/c he can say jesse did it to cover up for hank. that then ties up the loose end of gale's notebook message and the poetry collection message found in walt's house.

also, b/c i read that article that was linked earlier about paying attention to what colors people wear:

both hank and marie are in dark clothes as they learn that walt has turned the table and is now threatening to accuse them of masterminding this drug ring. as is mentioned in that article, the more "bad" people become, the darker their clothes get. so hank's learning of how his medical bills were paid for paints him into a corner as far as prosecuting walt & skylar. a "bad" corner i'd presume from his attire. especially considering marie wasn't wearing purple, she was admitting her "bad" side by finally explaining that hank's hands were dirty too.

Um, yeah, but what about Todd & the Brotherhood? Why am I the only one talking about these guys like it matters?

I agree. My issue is how Jesse "figured it out" and how quickly/extremely he reacted. And how we then needed to have a following scene that spelled it all out anyway. And how there doesn't seem to be any consequence for not "disappearing" when were told there would be. Though, maybe that's still coming.

But, I agree. This show does a good job of trusting the audience enough to avoid awkward flashback reminders like you're talking about. And it's a better show for not doing that.

i meant to quote you and then kept scrolling down through the thread.

i'm wondering about that message too. what phone is it on? has walt heard it? what will walt do when he learns what they've done? huge questions there, but i'm thinking that's what/who the m60 is for.

I'm thinking the same thing about the M60. I also think Todd will learn about Hank and will want to get rid of him, but because family comes first, Walt & Hank will team up in the end. It might be a stretch but I can see it.
Spoiler: show
And I still think Walt will fake his own death (scruffy look, dark clothes, the neighbor lady dropping her groceries at the sight of him)

In that case all I can think of is....poor Walt Jr.

It's not a big leap from there to "Walt poisoned Brock" given the Drew situation and Jesse's confrontation with Walt about him constantly trying to play Jesse to get what he wants in the guise or really caring for him.

Jesse's motivation has always been to replace the family/father he lost, his rage at Walt's abuse of their relationship is completely understandable and very much in character for him. I wouldn't be surprised by a Jesse / Walt Jr. confrontation before it ends.

My GF and I couldn't really figure it out.
Yeah? That's where my mind went immediately. Maybe because I just rewatched season 4.
I was thinking the same thing as Joey......the way it just hit him like a Lightning Bowldt all of the sudden kinda conflicts with how spaced out and distant he has been these first two episodes.

I don't think it does. It's been simmering inside him all along, all this hurt and anger and mistrust. This is a show about reactions-- physical, psychological, and chemical. A substance can appear hazy and still, yet explode violently with the right catalyst. Jesse realizing Huell's master pickpocketing skills was that catalyst, and it triggered a violent fucking reaction-- much like we've seen him react in the past when children are put in the line of fire, yet exacerbated even further by his growing resentment towards Walt.

Team Jorge.

When Jesse walks out of Saul's office brushes up against Huell (and he says "excuse me!") my mind immediately went to the pickpocket of the ricin cigarette.

An excellent episode.
