I write too. Probably not well. So relaxing to spin some tunes and go to a diner and get some coffee and just get lost. Currently at a laundromat doing that.
Good man.

What kinda stuff do you write?
Short stories and stuff.

You?

RIP Kurt Cobain. Does not feel like 21 years ago today. Being 13 years old and hearing this as someone who listened to In Utero all the time I was devastated. I think all the time about how music would be today if we still had Kurt.

It was shocking. I'd seen them a few months earlier on the In Utero tour. I distinctly remember being at that show and thinking to myself that I was witnessing our generation's John Lennon. I was stunned when he went through with the suicide. I remember thinking he was sort of badass to walk the walk, so to speak. Now that I'm older and a father, I just think what a selfish asshole. In a million years I could never do something so shitty to my kid, especially because I didn't feel like Freddy Mercury when I got paid millions to perform to throngs of adoring fans. Great music, though. He really was our generation's John Lennon.

I like him as a person much more than I like his music (most of Nirvana's work does nothing for me these days)-- a principled, sensitive guy, with really good music taste, who sadly succumbed to depression and addiction, devastating mental illnesses.

I dont ever think someone is selfish when they are kill themselves. No idea to know what is going on in their head. Im not condoning but I'm not chastising I guess.

All of that being said I think Kurt was murdered.

Chris Isaak has actually done some pretty great stuff, who knew?

(Plenty of folks, clearly. Just not me.)

I took my Mum to a Chris Isaak concert "On The Green" a few years ago. What a good son I am.

Ugh. Seems to be a 50-50 split on who I ask haha. They are in my neck of the woods in July. I should go.

You should check 'em out. Why not? I doubt it'll be awful. I'm sure you'll find a few things to really dig about the show.

I've never seen them live. And I haven't really listened to their music in a long, long time. So....
