Quite possibly one of the best Stones songs ever recorded.

Every time I listen to Dirt I come away thinking how awful it must be to be addicted to heroin. Because that's basically all that's going on during that album. There are a lot of great guitar riffs and some great songs, but I'd probably put it second to S/T for me.

I thought I'd remembered posting about "Facelift" before so I searched and found this:

''Facelift'' is probably the weakest of their pre-reunion records. It has that dichotomous feel of wanting to be really ugly and really glamorous at the same time that just never quite jibes for me, though it's understandable as a transitional moment between '80's metal and alternative rock. It has at least 3-4 kickass songs, though.

Still about sums it up for me. Though from memory "We Die Young" is the only song that really does it for me anymore.

I'm always surprised by the luke warm reception to Facelift here. Sometimes I'll skip Put You Down, Confusion or I Know Something About You but the other 9 tracks are great. Essential even.

It is, but they should have dumped Swing on This. Don't Follow would have been a perfect finish.

I made a greatest hits mix plus Jar of Flies, and that's all I ever need from them. I don't like a ton of their songs, but I love the ones that click with me.
