It obviously doesnt belong anywhere other than the holiday singles, but I think I like it more than most songs from Backspacer and Lightning Bolt.
I like Santa God, don't believe in Xmas, and someday at Xmas. None are favorites but they're all nice holiday singles

Aren't you proudly on record as not really knowing much about the recent material

I think the lyrics to Ole are just fine. He's not breaking any new ground or changing the world or anything. But they're nowhere near bad.
.

They work for the song. Fun, kinda stupid, occasionally pointed -- I really like the "knuckleheads" line, that's a word that doesn't get used enough.
My turnoff with ole is the shine Eddie has on his voice. It's the style of his I like the least.

I do love the last 45 seconds of ole

Me too. One of my very favorite Christmas singles. I think I've started like three different SOTM threads for it.

See, Ruddo, here's a good example of an appropriate post for this thread.
Fine! I'll give it a shot:

Porch is a great song.

"U" is a lot of fun. Gotta be the original B-side version though.

That's one of those second look songs that I fell for after hearing RMers praise it

I'm surprised you have any trust left after "In the Moonlight" and "Around the Bend."

I'm 100% with KD on it. It's the perfect vocal performance for that era of Pearl Jam.

Kevin Davis just gets it. And that isn't an opinion, unpopular or otherwise.

U is fucking great!

But like, KD said, it's gotta be the original B-side version. The LD version can suck chud's pud, bud.

I never give up on people no matter how often they let me down.

Also, while hardly a favorite, I have developed an appreciation for around the bend's softer charms. Your average is pretty good.

Is Ed closer to being the the greatest lyricist in rock history or the greatest investor in rock history? And is Bono ahead of him in both categories?
