PS. I contributed quite a bit to the Unofficial Soundgarden Homepage - including my FAQ - but I do have to mention that it was actually designed and maintained by my friend Seth Perlman.
Holy hell, you guys did a tremendous job, that's how I pretty much buffed up on all my SG knowledge (didn't know that was you). Read it regularly back in the day and prob still didn't scratch the surface of all the archived info.

the unofficial soundgarden homepage was the five horizons for soundgarden back in the day. more objective and probably better, too.

Yes, we had a healthy rivalry with 5H.
I'm pleased to hear that you all got something out of it.

Glad I got to see em with Cameron on the reunion tour. I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing how he handles their catalog. I'm sure he'll do a fine job though.

He handles the end of Rusty Cage pretty well. Doesn't quite have the same swing but it's solid.

Just watched a few songs and he does a good job. Give him a few more shows to really relax into it.
SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell and bassist Ben Shepherd told The Pulse Of Radio that Cameron can step back into the lineup whenever he feels like it. "Whenever he wants to come out, he's coming out," Cornell said. "And he can change his mind, you know, and we can take out a..." Shepherd interjected: "We got another guy with the same initials playing drums for us, so it makes it really easy." Cornell added: "I'm not really sure what his schedule is. For sure though, when we start working on whatever our next record will be, and any decision we make, he's an absolute member of the band, you know."

There are no PJ shows till June so are PJ in the studio? Has Matt got family commitments? I can't see why he isn't touring SA with them now.

It's always cool seeing a guy play hard rock with traditional grip. Matt Chamberlain is a pro's pro.

I can only guess these shows act as something of a warm-up for Chamberlain before the Europe/US stint?

Yep, I imagine that Chamberlain would appreciate some time in the seat before they hit the US tour.

That's what I initially thought but Cameron did the SXSW last week plus there's nothing doing with PJ (or we think). Those comments by Cornell and Shepherd sound really weird like there has been an incident and he's taking time off.
Maybe there was a tentative PJ tour pencilled in and it went to shit.

It is fun to speculate. Like maybe there was an agreement that SG wasn't going to do much and they changed their mind. Maybe Matt said he was cool with a replacement but when they actually did it he was like "what the fuck?". I imagine the SG guys are difficult personalities. I could see any one of those guys getting on you for something and not shutting the fuck up about it. I have to imagine PJ is more easy going.

It was announced quite a while ago, so I don't think there was an incident. I think he's just gassed.

Cameron said he wants to spend more time with his family. That sits well with him doing two shows @ SXSW, i.e. going away for maybe three days, but not wanting to spend several weeks away from the family in South America (and then go away once again for the PJ tour of Europe).

Cameron has been going pretty much non-stop since Backspacer came out, it's probably nothing more than a needed break.

Soundgarden plays South America, and I'm having that first-world problem - again...
