I had heard that song growing up and listening to grunge radio. But my real introduction to Lanegan was Blues Funeral. I really enjoy that album and love a few songs. Other than that, and some of his stuff with Isobel Campbell, I haven't heard any of his other material. (I may have listened to Bubblegum once.) Side note: Blues Funeral was in my top 3 albums the last year I stopped regularly buying tons of new music.
I would urge you to check out
Whisky for the Holy Ghost
Bubblegum (If you loved Blues Funeral give that another try)
Sweet Oblivion (a perfect encapsulation of everything grunge got right)
Dust (the other great Trees record)
I may get around to this at some point. For now I'll just love Blues Funeral.

Bubblegum is the masterplan from which Blues Funeral was derived. You wont be disappointed.

I enjoyed Beehive way more than Nocturne, although both are quite good. One more week till this one drops, pretty pumped about it

I keep forgetting this is coming out. These were the weakest opening tracks for a new lanegan album (for me) in a long while, but I'll still be listening to this the first chance I get

So far the reviews have been pretty positive--in the same vein of Blues Funeral and Phantom Radio.
Having not heard the album yet, sounds like it's another electronic/synth heavy record. I wish he would have ventured into something less predictable, but judging from Nocturne and Beehive at least it sounds like there some real instrumentation blended in the mix (guitars, keys, heavy drums on Beehive) instead of just pure electronic-fused tunes like Phantom Radio and the EP. I like his last album but from a musical standpoint it came off a bit lazy (except for Sad Lover and Torn Red Heart, love those tracks).

I think Beehive is better than anything from Phantom Radio and the No Bells on Sunday EP.

I just pre ordered this (and that likely terrible remix album from phantom radio)

Awesome. I'm not a regular listener, he has some good interviews sometimes.

This has the potential to be amazing as Maron usually gets the guests to get to the bottom of things

The remix album was okay, about half of it was worth listening to. The remix for Killing Season (by Unkle) though is ace, it's way better than the original IMO.
