Shouldn't you just enter for both on each show you want to go but put GA as your preference? Does the order of your preferences impact the odds of you winning GA or reserved seats for any particular show?

It depends.

If you were to preference like this:

1. Show A - GA
2. Show A - Res.
3. Show B - GA
4. Show B - Res.

You will have a relatively low chance of scoring anything to Show B - or at least lower than if you'd placed it second, it's going to depend on how high demand your Show B is.

(Forgive me if I'm getting this wrong, it's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I remember how they run it.)

I'm banking on everyone blowing their wads on NYC, Chicago or Fenway... and they'll announce a Gorge show in about 2 months and the lottery won't be nearly as packed.

I've actually never done it this method so it is all new to me. Before it was just luck in the first few minutes or being pissed off because I got shut out. So if you wanted to hit 4 shows it would be best to select GA for first four options and reserved for the second four? I want to hit all Florida shows and would be prefer to stand but need seats in Tampa because my wife has physical limitations where she can't stand for an extended period. Shit she can't stand for 20 minutes straight let alone a few hours.

2006 was assigned 10C seats on the floor, same as they were doing elsewhere at the time. I bought public sale as I only needed a single.

10C sold tickets in 2009 too but early entry was the only benefit as all shows were GA.

Yes, if you would prefer to see a number of shows, I'd preference like this:

1. Show A - GA/Res.
2. Show B - GA/Res.
3. Show C - GA/Res.
4. Show D - GA/Res.

6. Show B - (whichever you didn't pick above)
7. Show C- (whichever you didn't pick above)
8. Show D - (whichever you didn't pick above)

The order in which you preference those shows is going to involve a bit of guesswork as to which are going to be highest demand shows, obviously you'll want to choose those before low demand shows where 10C will have plenty of tickets.

Same. There's no real benefit being in the 10C in Australia so far as tickets go.

I'd much prefer they play indoor shows if they come back but I'm not holding my breath.

A Newie group have started another petition like in 2006. There's little chance but if it happens it'll be a vineyard show, I'm sure. Which I could see happening around Australia plus a couple of entertainment centre shows.

This is exactly what I have done in the past and I wait until a few hours before the closing to pick the location order.


I would also mention that I have never had an issue getting a +1 ticket from someone on the main board. They aren't nearly as bad as you think.

That is pretty much what I did exactly but put Tampa reserved seating as my first option in hopes I'm able to get a pair there with seats for the wife. She's not going to the others so I don't have to worry about her being comfortable.

I'm almost wishing we just had to scramble to get tix like before and the site crashed. I'm analyzing this odds thing way too much.

I love the lottery simply because I don't need to use vacation time to sit in front of my computer to TRY to get tickets.
