yeah I'm beginning to question my decision to purchase the switch when it came out... I enjoyed BOTW quite a bit but can't replay it.. can't get into it again.. MK8 was good for a while but can't play that anymore either... PS4 is better at everything.

My PS4 has a heck of a time playing Nintendo games...

How old is the child? There are some intermediate puzzle elements in each room to progress. It's not an open world to really explore outside of the opening of the game. The puzzle solving and strategic elements to boss fights might be tough for a young, young kid.
Most of the game is available to play in co-op, so that's option to help with difficult sections.

Like 5. I could help him with the puzzles if the controls are easy and intuitive enough. I'm hoping it's something we can play together.

I think it would be really fun to play together. There are not many game mechanics for him to memorize, but the they really explore every combination of the 5 or so elements.

True for the most part, but there's Doom, Resident Evil: Revelations, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Dark Souls, L.A Noire, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Diablo III, Darkest Dungeon, Skyrim.

Journey to Silius and Crystalis for NES and Star Fox 2, Super Punch-Out!!, Kirby Super Star, and Breath of Fire II for SNES will be added to Switch Online.
I'm excited that Crystalis is being added. I tried buying it over the summer on eBay, but the cart I got wouldn't work in my NES - and I have a top loader.

My nephews are getting a Switch from Santa this year and I'm really glad my sister told me. She had no idea that she'd have to buy more controllers and well, Uncle Pete to the rescue.
