I didnt know this (im assuming this is the story)

"Maggot Brain" was recorded in one take when George Clinton, under the influence of LSD, told guitarist Hazel during the recording session to play as if he had been told his mother was dead:[1] Clinton explained "I told him to play like his mother had died, to picture that day, what he would feel, how he would make sense of his life, how he would take a measure of everything that was inside him.


But i love it even more now.

It is the guitar playing ive been mimicking my entire life.

That's it. And in the last section he was told to play as if he had then learned that his mother was, in fact, still alive.

Crazy way to record an album, but the results speak for themselves.

Fantastic album all around as well.

This is even better again. The bass tone is some of the nastiest I've ever heard. Sounds like a DarkGlass AlphaOmega running through a Verellen Meatsmoke.
