Their offense is pretty streaky. They still need a LFer and now SS that can put the bat on the ball (after Castro's benching). But they're about a year ahead of schedule, which is a pleasant surprise.

Their offense reminds me a lot of the Brewers over the last few years, tons of HR's tons of K's, and very streaky, which means if they get hot at the right time, look out. But if they get cold at the same time..... its not fun to watch.

the thing is, the cubs don't hit a lot of home runs. if it wasn't for rizzo and schwarber, their offense would be dreadful.

but tonight's game reminded me just how god-awful the brewers are. just terrible.

After some more awesomeness yesterday, the Jays have now gained 7.5 games on the Yankees in two weeks and sit half a game back of the AL East lead with 48 games left. It's amazing that it seemed like a longshot for the Jays to catch the Yankees with just 61 games remaining after the Tulo trade, and now they've essentially done it in 13 games.

I know, its amazing. I feel stupid for making that assumption. But, to be honest, I can't believe they caught them already. I'm glad you're enjoying the ride.

The Yankees bats have fallen asleep. Their pitching really hasn't been the issue for a change.

And as if that weren't enough to whip Jays fans into a frenzy, future Blue Jays' Game 2 starter Marcus Stroman makes his first rehab start next week.
