But they've released this kind of info before without using an elaborate method. This 7 or 8 day wait has worked and generated a ton of publicity and engagement among fans....I really do think they need to deliver something extra special with this one.

This is a good point. Part of me wonders why they would do the countdown clock for news they've delivered before via the simpler route of email. Another part of me thinks that they really like doing superficial snazzy shit like playing with artwork on the website, countdown clocks, and all those things that normally only Rihanna fans would get excited about. The best part of me doesn't really give a shit.

I'm hoping they send the email when the countdown ends because I'm sure their website will crash from the F5's.
