That being said I was never a star trek fan. I do think I saw the first one (of JJ's) a few years back but i really have never watched much of any star trek ever.
Im so gay for Star Wars

There's definitely a level of appreciation that comes with being a Trek fan already when you watch JJ's movie. But you don't need to be. That's what was so brilliant about it. It's the perfect "reboot." It's ready built for a new audience.

Dont worry, pal. The Force Awakens is already the best movie ever.

I'm disappointed no one deleted, "for Star Wars" when replying.

I might just have to ask my wife if she wants to watch Star Trek tonight. She might love it more than I do. Shouldn't be too difficult.

He does say Jedi and dark side so the force is a pretty obvious connection to make
Right, yes. Exactly. But he doesn't say Force.
but the movie's fucking called the force awakens, so it's not very hard to infer exactly what han's talking about

At some point in this trilogy I want to see Luke be a fucking master jedi kicking some arse and doing cool shit.
I wont be able to deal with all 3 hero's killed off in the first movie.

It's even easier to appreciate if you love Michael Bay movies, get aroused by shouted exposition, and think the things you love are improved by being less unique and more exactly like everything else around them.
Star Trek was as broken as Star Wars. He made it faster, funnier, and louder, but also (and this takes effort) dumber than ever. He made it Generic Space Shooter: the Movie.
Whatever else happens, I do believe he will serve Star Wars way better than Trek.
