Here’s the thing - if you compare them to TotD, or Pearl Jam, that is a fair statement, but if you treat them like their own separate thing, and take away that baggage, they were a pretty solid alt rock band akin to a Jane’s Addiction (not as good nor am I suggesting they were).

On the TotD tour in 2016, I got to see a lot of the MLB songs live with Chris Cornell and it was exceptional. So the songs were there.

yeah, i like MLB enough. Of course i listened to them because of Jeff and Stone, but i grew to actually like the band and how joyful Andy is in most of them.

Capricorn Sister, Stardog Champion, Holly Roller, of course Chole Dancer/Chrown Of Thorns, This is ShangriLa, Come Bite The Apple and Stargazer are all favs of mine.

Ah, the day they stopped naming themselves after an NBA All-Star and chose a name they could make up endless stories about. Has anyone done a 23 and Me to determine if there was an aunt Pearl in Eddie’s family history? Or tracked down the setlist of the purported Neil Young show in New York?

I was listening to Waiting for Stevie on my way into work this AM, as I do from time to time, and I was struck by how lucky I am that I have a band who speaks to who I am now, rather than simply helps me remember who I was then.
