I just spent 30 minutes getting an appointment for a COVID test. Had to call 2 different places. One even wants me to see a doctor.

There is simply no way you're going to get people to be tested in the amounts they need to be tested if you can't collect contact info, screen the patient, swab them, and go.

I'll let you know how long I'm actually at the place later.

Is your county’s health department not doing the tests?

Is your county’s health department not doing the tests?

If they are, they aren't on the State COVID Test Location website. Which has it's own problems. I'm on the edge of my zip code, so when I put in my zip code, I ONLY get those offices IN that zip code, despite the fact that I'm closer to 12 other places. I wouldn't have found those 12 other places if the one in my zip code wasn't so inconvenient and difficult to deal with.

Just self quarantine for 14 days and avoid the whole stupid process

What a fiasco! The urgent care center made me wait in their waiting room for 10 minutes. Then an MA came in and took down my full medical history before swabbing me and telling me I had to wait to talk to a doctor before I left.

I took a nap in their chair and after I had been in the place for over an hour, I went to reception and asked if I could leave. They went and found another MA to tell me that they're required to do a full consultation when they test for COVID.

B: "So, if I leave now, will I get my results?"
MA: "I actually don't know."
B: "Well, I'm gonna test that. I'm sorry."

So ... I don't know if I'm going to get my results. The good news is that I don't have a fever and my blood pressure is normal.

Maybe I missed a post, but is there a reason you think you've got the 'rona?

I mean, we want people to be tested. I'd like to think I'm more patient than the average person. I waited over an hour after all.

People are not going to do this. They're certainly not going to repeat the process for a second exposure after being fucked over by the clinic.

That's fucked up. Here you just go through a drive thru, have them poke your brain through your nose with a q-tip, and drive away. Three days later they call you with the results.
