i think we all know what the larger general fanbase actually thinks, and that's why we're here

So there you have it, this is as close to the explicit mission statement that I've always wondered aloud about (and have been roundly bashed for) that is widely accepted by consensus of this board: That RM is simply a place for people who's fandom of the band has run it's course, and not a whole lot else.

Basically, it's a board for former fans. All of the debate that there is something subjective and that current fans are part of this fabric and that the commenters here can't be pidgeonholed and that there are a multitude of viewpoints and that this place is not homogenous, etc, etc has borne itself out. It is the bubble that I have contended it to be.

I appreciate the honesty. We are under no illusions, so thank you for that. Sincerely.

Is it normal for fans of any other band to love every single album? Also, most of the people here still talk fondly about the albums they like, just not the ones they don't, which happens to be the last two. I'll take criticism and hope for another good album over the fawning at the Pit about every word that the band utters.

100% agreed. i have a huge level of hope and desire that the next album will be good. doesn't need to be great. but it's healthy to have a level of skepticism, no matter what you're doing or talking about. to love something blindly is dangerous. that's how Hitler started.
