What are you currently reading?

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I read it in English, but I heard every word in his voice and accent It got more interesting when he started to tell about the trips to South America to film Aguierre and Fitzcarraldo etc. There's so much of his stuff I haven't seen which I'll definitely watch after reading the book.

A few days ago I read someone saying they read The Alchemist some unstated time ago and didn't remember a thing about it. I read it probably 20 years ago and I don't either. Admittedly my memory is god awful, but got me thinking about other books I don't remember squat about:

I really sucked this year, so progress? Sadly one book a month might satisfy that.

I would love to be much more intentional with my time in general. I'm wasting away.

I read 10,267 pages across 27 books last year. Way down from 2023's 25,873 pages across 70 books.

I need to do a better job of finding time to read next year. 2024 was the first time in a long time I was working full time from the office. I've been a student, part-time employed, working from home, "working" from home, or just straight-up unemployed for most of my adult life. But that doesn't seem like it'll be the case again for me, so I need to make some adjustments

Audiobooks while working are great, if that helps. Though, personally, I can only do non-fiction in audio form.
