Legs felt totally wasted today. Flogging these old Bostons is really sapping my energy I think. Slipping into new shoes when the roads aren't coated in slime is going to feel amazing.

Yesterday evening I ran for the first time a few months. I've been eating and drinking like a fat fucking slob and have gotten pretty out of shape. My leg has been pretty sore off and on for a while now and it's been way too fucking cold. The weather was nice so I smoked a few hits of very strong pot and forced myself out there. Just walk if I have to, I said. When I walked out the door and hit the road something deep inside woke up and started cleaning away cobwebs and spacedust and dormant motivation kicked into gear gradually and I felt about dead for the first quarter mile. There was the voice saying I've done enough, just stop and go home, but that motivated voice kept coming in saying "fuck you, you've got this... go go go" and I pushed through it. Did a lot of walking, caught my breath and chugged away some more over and over until I found myself having gone 3.5 miles. Way more than I thought I was going to be capable of in this state. It's amazing how good it felt and I can't wait to get at it again, hopefully tomorrow. I'm going to lose at least 10 pounds of fluff pretty quickly I think.

Got 9 easy miles in around noon and then a quick little 3.5 on the treadmill around 9 tonight. The Signal Pinks are cashed out. Rest in Piss.
