It's a decent 2.45 because he works real hard to pad those assist totals. It's a little misleading to look at just the ratio with him.

Then there's this. Last year, Russ ranked in the bottom half of every defensive category but steals. His pick and roll defense is Shaq-like.

So to recap, he turns the ball over a lot, sucks at defense, shoots a lower percentage in crunchtime and shoots sub-.300 from 3.

2.45 isn't terrible, but it's not great. And I don't have the breakdown, but I'd guess between 40 to 50 percent of his turnovers are in the 4th quarter, which is why OKC leads the league in 4th quarter chokes this year.

Also, Chris Paul, Rondo, Rubio and Parker/Mills (among others) all handle the ball just as much as Russ and have considerably higher assist to TO ratios.
in fairness if someone tries to steal the ball off of CP he just punches them in theirs...
