A lo-fi audio recording of some girl you kinda know faking an orgasm with an episode of Step By Step playing in the background.

Keep in mind: these are people who like the band enough to post on a Pearl Jam messageboard!
Since when do we like Pearl Jam?

I've listen to the album a lot and the last hour i've mixed this with some older pearl jam songs. The new songs are great and this album could have been one of their best, but it isn't because the production failed once again. I want to filter the instruments from each other, and again on this album it sounds as one muddy shit. For example listen to the you tube version of sirens, you can hear mike and stone seperately very clear. That sound so much better then the album version. On infallible i want to hear the guitar parts as on tremor christ for example. This could have been one of their best albums but the production made it an solid radio friendly one and that's a shame. For now four stars

Is anyone else a little irritated how almost every song starts so...abruptly? It's like they're all edited to start exactly on the first beat without any sort of room. Instantly in your face. Sirens is the biggest offender. I like the beginning of Infallible.

Yeah Sirens is the worst culprit of this. It sounds like a hack job. Should've had a coupe cymbal taps to lead into the song.

Yup, pretty much. Many of their intros used to be as exciting as the "main body" of their songs. Something like Getaway starts pretty blandly. It's fine, but it's like every song is an exercise in a race towards the climax, and I want a little foreplay first.

But I don't like the hi-hat taps, personally. The one song they do that in, LTRP, doesn't improve it in any way.

Now pick a good song and make that argument.

Pretty much every song Matt taps loudly into live

I can see the count in working for Sirens if the song itself was produced in a more low-key manner. But as it is, the song is so shiny that a count-in would just sound weird.

I don't even necessarily need intros but I would like it to flow a little better and more naturally. It's this clinical precision. You could startle me with the beginning of Sirens.
