Especially since now the division actually matters. You don't have teams not giving a shit if they win the division or the wildcard and resting once they've clinched the playoffs in general.

I dunno, I feel like the lower the stakes get, the less inherent excitement there is to it. In some ways it's sad that we'll never see another race like the 1993 NL West (or, going back before any of our times, the 1967 AL). Going to the wire for the right to be in a one game playoff and hopefully advance to the LDS just doesn't have the same inherent spark to it.

I wasn't crazy about the 1 game playoff when they started it, but I'm on board now. I'd rather see it be 2/3, though. I mean, they take a week to get to the division series now anyway.

I like the current playoff format. I just think the way that they seed teams stinks.
For instance, I'm pretty pumped to get a Wisconsin/Kentucky national semifinal game in the NCAA tourney. It would've sucked getting it in the second round.
