Putting aside the racism discussion for a hot minute, I do enjoy how on the one hand the FBI can't be trusted and the 2nd ammendment protects us from them, while simultaneously using the FBI's data as support for an argument.

He's not using the FBI's data--that would entail believing that, in some future case where someone tries to murder him (can't imagine why), his attacker is overwhelmingly likely to be white. That's what the FBI data which Bi_3 posted above suggests (and which is broadly confirmed by the DOJ's statistics). Mac's most likely parroting some numbers handed down from American Renaissance or some other far-right conservative group, the kind that wildly manipulates data to fit pre-formed conclusions about race and behavior.

It can be simultaneously true that as an individual you are more likely to be murdered by someone of the same race, and that certain groups are more prone to murder than others. Is he confusing these two?

There it's a around a 5:1 white:black population ratio. The UCR data linked before shows roughly equal counts of murder events by race and that Black people kill 2x white people as white people kill Black people. Someone could math that all out and see if you encounter two strangers, both male, one white and one black, what are the odds each is a murderer (assuming one killer per victim). That seems like the type of stat that would lead one to state something like Mac did.

I’d say the takeaway is that we’re more similar to poorer countries than what we consider the “western world” when it comes to gun violence.
