Which is ironic given Trump and Vance are cosying up to and doing the work of Neo Nazis and Putin.
*Vance met with the leader of Germanys Neo Nazi AfD last week and refused to meet the German chancellor. The actual leader of the country.
Why is that?

The interesting undercurrent in America right now is Christian Nihilism. It’s certainly an unexpected blend of two otherwise conflicting philosophies, but it perfectly explains MAGA.

You could make it easier for yourself and try and find the literature from the Scottish government that Vance said was sent to people’s homes telling them it was a crime to even pray in their homes if they lived near an abortion clinic in a safe access zone? And to inform authorities if they suspected someone in their household or neighbourhood was doing so and to report it to police?
Because that’s what he said was distributed in Scotland from the Scottish government. I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding the literature he mentioned.
Obviously you won’t be able to because he fabricated the whole story on the spot. No such material or letter from Scottish authorities exists.
Or the other guy he referenced in Bristol, eh he claimed his free speech was being taken away from him, when the guy in question was screaming at women entering and leaving a healthcare clinic despite having had several warnings from police to knock it off, and the clinic in question mainly dealt with miscarriages. But apparently the guys free speech was taken from him and he was simply minding his own business in his own home. (He was in his home, next door to the clinic, hanging out his window screaming at these women)
I’m sure you can provide us with the sources of JDs stories and fables.

- Spoiler: show
- There is a notice, but it's so vaguely worded as to mean any number of things, and if they can arrest you for praying silently on the sidewalk, why couldn't they arrest you for doing it in your window? Can one pray recklessly or unintentionally?
Obviously it's a comical law that probably can't be enforced anyway and a minor point overall, but the fact that it exists shows the worldview of the people who want to create a law for everything. I wonder if a relative or someone living in the house feels like snitching you out to the government like it's 1932 Eastern Europe, would that be enough to fine or arrest someone? Probably.

I haven't heard anything about him screaming at women. Even the "fact-checkers" who declared Vance's statements "misleading" then go on to describe it as: "Adam Smith-Connor was convicted of breaching a safe zone by praying outside an abortion clinic in Bournemouth in November 2022, after refusing repeated requests to leave the area. He was handed a 100-pound fine which he didn't pay, triggering a court case. Ultimately, he was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay prosecution costs to the tune of 9,000 pounds ($11,300, €10,800)."
He had emailed the city beforehand saying he would do it, so it's obviously a protest, but a protest against the law itself. And that protest took the form of a silent prayer, which shouldn't be criminalized in any circumstances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjUphe7 ... nnel=ADFUK
He's also not the only one to get the cops called. A couple of others have been fined for the horrible crime of praying, both silently and out loud. I know at least one had their fine overturned the first time.
The last link you posted is just an article of the woman behind the law saying "nuh-uh", so I don't know what that adds.
Personally, I think some of his points or weaker than others, and he is a politician after all. I wish he would have mentioned the people arrested for inciting violence with comically vague tweets, but oh well.

Very basic question would upend Vance if he truly believed in the right to prayer anywhere any time. Does he support Muslims right to pray on the street when it’s time for call to prayer?
Think you’ll find he doesn’t support that at all.
The Romanian election? They made the right call. There was ample evidence of Russian interference. French and German authorities are currently considering punitive measures against Musk for their elections being targeted on x. Interesting tactic. Going for the medium rather than the source.

Trumps white house has gone from appeasing Putin, to aligning with Putin, to a basement to Putins plan to attack major European cities, at hypersonic speed.
“A Kremlin insider has sensationally claimed Donald Trump has given Russia the 'green light' to attack major European cities, including London.”

I’m trying to imagine what Christian nihilism would entail. Or even look like.
It kinda goes against most of the central tenets.
Unless of course you converted to, say, Catholicism only 6 months ago and suddenly decided you’re an expert and gave a lengthy talk in which you completely misinterpret the basic foundations and principles of Christianity and lecture everyone that they have been doing it wrong for 2000 years and you end up with the actual Pope coming out with a strongly worded reply slapping you all about the place (in a literal sense) with his his actual expertise.
But I can’t think of anyone so foolish and nihilistic to annoy the Pope to such a degree and with nonsense like that.
It couldn’t happen surely..

Isn't he just saying "I identify as Christian but don't really believe anything".
Sounds like a reasonable representation of many people's positions these days.
