It was at the end of a fluff article about LeBron and Melo's friendship. I can't lie, Bleacher Report totally trolled me by the update they sent yesterday. I reacted in a very verb-like, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS GUY?!?!" kind of way. Then I read the article.

I mean, Lebron did say it did he not? Unless they left out the part where he said , 'this would never happen but' I don't see why we shouldn't be killing him for it. Part of me things he's acting out like this because he's jealous of all the dub nation focus. He's not the center of the NBA universe anymore.

I think that is definitely part of it. Maybe he's just bored by the regular season too.

You'd have to read the whole article to judge the context if you really wanted decide whether you should be killing him for it or not. Like I said my initial reaction was to kill him for it. After the reading the article it gets a big shoulder shrug from me.

It goes back to when Melo and LeBron met each other for the first time and how they instantly loved each other's game blah blah blah and how leading up to the draft they would BS about how great it'd be to play together. Then it goes on to how they thought the Cleveland-Detroit rivalry they'd have would be awesome but obviously didn't happen. Then it gets to when LeBron, Wade, and Bosh all signed 3 year extensions so they'd be free agents in 2010 and how they "told" Melo to do the same, but apparently he missed the message. Then it has a whole big "what if" section about Melo, how basically everybody around him has failed him and if he'd been drafted by the Pistons he'd have multiple rings and people would perceive him as an all-time great. Sprinkle in some quotes from LeBron about how great Melo is, yadda yadda yada, then end by saying how much he'd still like to play with him and the other two before his career is over for a season. Then as an afterthought he says he'd take a paycut to do it.

It sounded like a wistful daydream, not an actual declarative statement of intentions to me. It also felt like a writer just trying to make his story come full circle, so he ends it where it began basically.

A stupid thing to say, but I don't really care to kill him over it, especially not on the heals of the unfollowgate nonsense. Idk.

4 years made him forget why he left that terrible organization in the first place. How do you leave one of the best-run organizations in the league and go back to that? He must regret leaving Miami every single day. All those things he doesn't like...they're all terrible. But he chose to go there. He has noone to blame but himself. ...and his squad who supposedly wanted to back there.

Kyrie Irving really shit the bed tonight. 1-8 from 3? 31% on the season? Lebron is still under 30% from 3 on the season. The Cavs weren't really that close last year and that was before two of their 'big three' (lol) massively regressed in an area of huge importance in the modern game. Coach Lue will figure it out though. All the cavs fans in that shithole city shouldn't be worried at all.

Perhaps they would have still won that title. But the mythical pistons cavs dueling powerhouses thing is just the egotistical delusion of a couple of 18 year old super friend douches. Melo has been in the league like 19 years and has like one playoff series win.

Carmelo Anthony has the worst winning percentage for any player in NBA history with at least 50 playoff games, according to ESPN.

Anthony's teams have a 16-36 (.308) record during his playoff career with the Nuggets and Knicks.

Denver reached the playoffs in all seven of Anthony's full seasons with the franchise, but were eliminated in the first round each year except for 2009 when they reached the Western Conference Finals.

If we are talking about that 2004 and 2005 Finals Detroit team. Team Skitch. Holy fucking shit, Team Skitch!

That was an amazing "team." Unselfish, amazing chemistry, one of the greatest examples of team defense ever seen.

I wouldn't have been all that upset if the Spurs lost the 2005 Finals to them.

Melo's garbage and would have wrecked those Pistons teams.

No way. It was a team predicated on teamwork and defense. The exact opposite of what Carmelo Anthony brings to the table.
