I thought it worked well symbolically. He didn’t get beaten by the business; he finally tapped out. As a super casual fan, I would have rather had the cathartic win, but this was the right move. Cena doesn’t need another win, and Gunther will have serious heel heat moving forward.

I have had two brief stretches in my life where I watched wrestling weekly. Cena was a part of one of them. Love the man. Love his entrance. Love everything he does outside of the ring. But I think he’s a boring wrestler to watch. That video package at the end had me close to tears. If they’d leaned more into the Make-a-Wish clips, I would have lost it.
