So Alexa was on random and Crazy Train came on. It put me in the mood for more so I asked the machine to shuffle some Ozzy songs. Bark at the Moon came on and the guitar was almost 100% not what I remember playing on Guitar Hero.
Bark at the Moon was re-issued again in 2002, although this version was actually a new remix of the album. This 2002 remixed version of the album was met with mixed reaction; many elements found in the original mix are not present in the remix, namely several lead guitar parts. In addition, the song "You're No Different" has an alternate ending (with the fade-out removed) and "Centre of Eternity" has an altered intro segment. This edition also included the bonus tracks "Spiders" and "One Up the 'B' Side", originally the B-side of the "Bark at the Moon" single.
In lawsuits filed in 2000 and 2002 which were dismissed by the courts in 2003, former band members Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake, and Phil Soussan stated that Osbourne was delinquent in paying them royalties and had denied them due credit on albums they played on.[163][164] In November 2003, a Federal Appeals Court unanimously upheld the dismissal by the US District Court for the Central District of California of the lawsuit brought by Daisley and Kerslake. The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled that Osbourne does not owe any royalties or credit to the former band members who were let go in 1981.[165] To resolve further issues, management chose to replace Daisley and Kerslake's contributions on the original masters, replacing them with Robert Trujillo on bass and Mike Bordin on drums. The albums were then reissued.[166] The original tracks have since been restored in accordance with the 30th anniversary of those albums.
And this was after the crap Black Sabbath had to go through.
Also I have never heard of The Blue Nile but am looking forward to hearing them after the past few posts.

I had Hats on cd like 10 years ago. I got it from a friend of mine who is a huge audiophile, and he was telling me how the album has amazing sound quality. According to him, from a sound quality perspective, it was one the best albums ever recorded. I gave it a few spins but it did absolutely nothing to me. It felt over produced and "sterile", so I gave it away.

Wait, I understood you were a confirmed “loudness war” sceptic?
I always thought it was hard to reconcile that with your appreciation (certainly way beyond mine) of the technical aspects of film making/home viewing.

Not a skeptic; the loudness war is very real and definitely annoying. However, I am not opposed to brickwalling as an intentional sonic choice in certain contexts (like The Woods). The thing I have always been skeptical of is “ear fatigue.”
But good production is something I crave in whatever form that may take. Sometimes that means loud and messy (Steve Albini), but often it means clean, crisp, and clear (Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac). I feel like I could get much more out of an audiophile recommending good-sounding music than I could out of some person who is very unlikely to share my general musical proclivities.

For some people it's actually the main criteria when they choose what to listen. For my friend, the sound quality made it one the best albums ever, and I guess partly for that reason the album is still popular among the audiophiles (e.g.

People seem to be shitting on that new Madonna song, but for all the wrong reasons.
She's been obsessed with Latin-American culture for like 30 years. It's not like she's trying to capitalize on any current trend.

It's a cynical reading but not without basis; both Maluma and reggaeton are huge on the international stage right now, and Madonna's long been accused of being a bit of a trend-chaser. But actually listening to song, it's not a generic reggaeton track cut from the "Despacito" cloth; it's spacier and weirder than that. If she had come out with something as dull and cookie-cutter as Pedro Capó's "Calma" (which might as well be titled "Despacito part 2") the accusations would make more sense

Like I said, you can rip on it for it not being good, but she's been producing songs based on Latin-American trends since the mid-80s, when it wouldn't have been considered a "cash grab" to do so.
I think she has a history of legitimately feeling a huge affection towards Latin-America.
