Again, it's fine that you don't have a fucking clue about international politics but you don't have to show your ass on the internet. What is Guaidó and Lopez's economic plan for Venezuela? What do they plan to do with the oil sector? What are the constituent requirements for being a political party in Venezuela today? What is the standing of the Socialist International? Perhaps most clearly, what level of international support do they have and from what type of people? Pence and Rubio are not out here backing a socialist or a social democrat, friend.

This has been circulating for a while... it sounds like a bunch of rich people wanted to swap despots for one that would give them access to oil and hired a Blackwater type group to overthrow the government. Or maybe that's what they want you to think.

Gonna go out on a limb and say that they were not captured by fisherman and that that's wholly a Maduro invention to humiliate the US, which totally rules.

I don’t for the life of me understand the logic of this Silvercorp group’s decision to be involved with whatever this was. The more I read the dumber this mission sounds.

I hope they get paid in Venezuelan money.

The United States has led than zero reason to be involved in something as wholly stupid as has been described.

There’s absolutely no benefit to the US getting involved in Venezuela.

Didn't Trump try and drum up something with Venezuela once before to change the news cycle away from something stupid he did? Maybe this is the start of something. "Give us the hostages or we'll war with you"

*I am presented with a series of interrelated questions intended to destabilize the easy acceptance of what is a well-funded right-wing movement in a foreign country, whose self-identifications are tailored to the requirements of a specifically local historical conjecture and do not map onto a metropole understanding of political positions*

This is exactly like the Princess Bride, you rube!
