I would have, and frankly still think your suggestion is a great idea, but I have no idea how to even get started on something like that. I'd be happy to do some creative tag-teaming with an audio/tech person though. It's a great project idea.

Finally listened to the pod. Great job, Stip. As usual you were insightful and articulate and a joy to listen to. It makes me want to do a video Guided Tour type roundtable project even more. I'd love to host that discussion. Get different RMers for each album. It would be so much fun.

This was a great listen. I wish I'd had a pen and paper though to jot down thoughts/ideas/questions.

One thing though, is the incest narrative really so opaque for people? Maybe there was a time before I'd heard it confirmed by the band or fans or whatever. But my memory is that I've always thought that was pretty obvious in the song. It's purposefully vague, sure. It's not blunt or spelled out but what else could that second verse be about, really?

i guess I just never thought about that too concretely, but I definitely did not arrive at the incest story organically

What did you think of the second verse before you that narrative was confirmed?

I looked up the lyrics to make a joke about what stip must have thought was happening, but it's impossible. There's nothing there but incest.
