This is a really fucking special show. That violin scene? Magic.

really surprised no one had any comments about the most recent episodes. This season has some great absurd moments

I haven't really been in the right space to watch the last few episodes. Been watching easily digestible fluff with no hint of melancholy. Of course, that just means I get to have a sweet binge session when I get the time.

I take it the new season isn't as popular here as the others? I admit I respect it more than I've liked it. Only four episodes left.

I've been enjoying it. Really love the conversations he has with his doctor.

Let me try that again. I agree with you about the doctor and there's been some other great bits through out, like Todd Barry's story or Louie's trip downtown to get his daughters & ex-wife to safety during the story. But the Amia storyline felt too stretched out. The language barrier was interesting at first but quickly become more of an impediment. I think it would have worked better as a two or three parter.

The "In the Woods" mini-movie was really good. I was impressed with the kid cast as young Louie.
I would have expected this thread to take off more than it did. The show defies convention and not something you pigeon hole but it's soo good when it hits right.

Louis really took advantage of that hiatus

My TV died, and I'm holding off replacing it in the hopes that I'll be moving in the next month or two. When we get the new one, the wife and I will be catching up pronto.

I kept reading this as "My dad died, and I'm holding off replacing it..."

Some wonderful callbacks in that finale. Such an odd and glorious episode.

Shit. One was enough.

I really enjoyed the elevator mini story, I give it to Louie on trying to come up with something different. The doctor scenes are also funny, I can't remember the last time I saw that actor in something, maybe midnight run?

Yes, Charles Grodin played the doctor. He looks a lot different than he did when he was younger.

He was fantastic. Great addition to the fabric of Louie's universe.

Old will do that to you.

I was just watching him in Catch-22 the other day, and it occurred to me that the movie is not far from being a half century old.

A scene with him and Lynch would have been dynamite.
