Thinking Trump and modern day conservatism is terrible doesn't require a whole lot of self awareness or intellectual capacity. It barely requires a pulse.

having said that, on first glance the lyrics suffered from the 'too obvious' problem that afflicts much of his political writing.

I don't know what Ed is saying, but I don't hate this musically. It's a lot better than most of the last two albums.

it's too bad, since the writing was pretty strong on Mind Your Manners and Infallible. This is a bit too Getaway

Hi folks. Just listened to the new single so thought I'd share my initial feelings.

Opening verse, Ed sounds like Chris Cornell. I like that. I also like the fact that even though the song isn't that long, it moves along at a reasonable pace instead of million miles an hour which I don't like personally. Song has groove and Ed sounds cool; his vocal screams attitude. I like the contrast between the verses and the chorus. I would not like this song to be the musical template for a new album (I prefer fully fleshed out, 4-5 minutes songs) but it sounds fresh and I like most things about it after a few listens.

For those who are hating on it, your ignorance is sinful.

I just realised I used the word like too much. I guess I must really like the new song.

Does it say Xmas single?

I've defended the last few albums quite a lot and feel like they were too underappreciated. I routinely find myself enjoying Backspacer and Lightning Bolt enough to appreciate them for what they are but THIS?! THIS IS PATHETIC.
