He just kinda feels like Vincent D'onefrio in Criminal Intent, but less interesting.

I disagree and so did the Golden Globe and Emmy voters.

love the over the top cases. get so bored of anything else nowadays.
The Wire didn't need "over the top." True Detective doesn't need "over the top."
That's why I find True Detective boring. Who *needs* over the top? Who even *needs* TV? Over the top is fun for some people.

Yep. how many awards has Big Bang Theory, Modern Family and How I met your mother won? How many did the wire win?
Those awards are pretty meaningless to me. I mean it's great you love the show and all, but don't cite those awards as proof of anything. I had been waiting awhile to watch this and was pretty disappointed.

Oh, no question. I dont mind over the top sometimes. But sometimes over the top just feels like trying way too hard.

Luther is one of my most highly recommended shows. Alice is ugly/hot or something.

oh. well, i retract my above post.
although at no time did Luther feel like it was trying too hard. i mean, what is "over the top"? as far as i'm concerned, not much in this world.

I'm in Luther limbo waiting for series 3 to release on Netflix. I've enjoyed the show, though I feel like the short second season really cost the series the opportunity to more fully flesh out its characters.
If you like this show, you should check out The Fall. It's another BBC offering about a serial killer in Belfast. It's really outstanding.
And Alice has a Simpsons mouth.

I'm a huge fan of The Fall. Looking forward to Season 2.

Idris did an interview here last night on an Irish chat show. He says that there's going to be one more instalment of Luther and then it's looking likel they'll make a movie. Good news.
He's a very funny man. Really charming.

I was trying to sell harmless on watching Homicide, and was talking about Munch. I didn't realize he got name checked on this as an "american contact"

The British equivalent of the Miranda rights: do they predate the American version? We pretty much just adopted your common law, so it would be fitting if we followed your lead on this, but I'm not confident that is the case in this instance.

I really enjoyed this show for the first season. Then it was OK, but kinda got worse. I might try them all again on Netflix, see if I feel different. But I have to finish Orange is the New Black first.
