There's one on the Pit now where somebody wants them to play "Forever Young" for their son who died.....in 2007. Because he'll be forever young in their hearts and he was their pearl jam buddy and they played that song when they were there in 2006. I dunno, it just seems weird to me to tell a heartbreaking story of your sons deaths eleven years later to get a band to play a song

The worst part to me is he calls the thread "My Pearl Jam buddy, my son, passed away"
Its only when you open it he reveals that
A. Its a song request, and
B. The son passed away in 2007

This pandering and how they have become so incredibly self aware (evil goat and out of my mind really?) has gone way further than I thought it would/could. These guys need to forget their existence and history, just get in a fucking room and jam.

This will all stop after tonight I guess. What’s hard is that over the years Vedder mentions “getting a letter” or otherwise learns of some real life situation he calls attention to on stage that is an authentic human moment, and people seize upon that with these outlandish requests that ultimately cheapen those real moments on the stage. Let’s hope this ends soon enough.

Yea, this was fine around the pj20 years but i thought they would have moved past it by now. Im fine celebrating their history but if they dont put their foot on the pedal soon here.......

I almost started a new thread about Pit song requests but then remembered we have this one. Could the mods re-title it "'My dog died; play Leash!' The Pit Request Thread"? It's what KD would've wanted.
