rank some smog/bill records
Too many to do them all at work, but off the top of my head, some good ones:

A River Ain't Too Much To Love
Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle
Apocalypse
Woke on a Whaleheart
Dongs of Sevotion
Dream River
Red Apple Falls
Knock Knock
I'm assuming you just forgot about Supper? I'd go:

A River Ain't Too Much To Love
Dongs of Sevotion
Supper
Rain on Lens
Apocalypse
Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle
Red Apple Falls
Dream River
Knock Knock
Woke on a Whaleheart

Admittedly, I should revisit Woke on a Whaleheart; I haven't spun it enough to give it a fair shake.
I think the issue is I don't have the Supper LP, so I don't listen to it very often. I spin the rest of those all the time.

Long overdue for another Callahan LP.

I have a weird relationship with the band. I don't know their whole discography, particularly their earlier stuff. Brighter than Creation's Dark was my intro the the group. Isbell was already gone and Shonna was soon on her way out. I really connected with the song "Self-Destructive Zones", but the Patterson songs on that album are really what made me a fan. He has the ghosts of the Deep South in his voice in ways I don't hear often anymore, and he plays a noisy guitar that I love. Go-Go Boots might actually be my favorite album by them. I really dig that Muscle Shoals sound.

Still. I "really like" the band and I play what I own from them often. Saw them live at Free Press years ago, hungover, at noon, on a small stage. There were maybe 60 people in the audience. It was great.

After saying all that, I think Cooley is probably the best songwriter in the band. I still respond more to Patterson's songs, though.

Same. I fell out around John Henry but came back big with their kids albums since they came out right when my son was born. Since then I've gotten back into the band and they've done some good stuff. Some not-so-good, but when you've been around that long it happens.
Oh man! So many great records since John Henry.

The Spine, The Else, Join Us, Nanobots... etc
Yeah it was great finding the gems in all the albums I missed.

Another band would be Seven Mary Three. I know it's fun to make them look stupid - and they kind of are dudebro rock - but there's some good stuff in there for me. I remember playing Orange Ave. pretty much all summer when it came out, the summer I started dating my wife. Great memories there.

Bluebottle kiss
The Fauves

Two outstanding and largely under heard bands, well worth the discernible listeners time!
