A new ongoing Darth Vader comic book series is on the way from writer Charles Soule and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli at Marvel Comics. The story will pick up at the end of Revenge of the Sith just as Darth Vader joins Emperor Palpatine in viewing the Death Star.

Picked up the first two issues of the Darth Maul mini yesterday. It's set sometime before TPM. It's a really interesting look into the psyche of Maul that, when you already know his ultimate fate, plays very nicely. Pretty good series so far.

I'm planning on buying the Darth Vader collected for the Volumes. $39.99, which is steep for one of these, but seems like it will be worth the money.

This latest, Yoda-centric arc in the main Star Wars book was phenomenal.

Was Aphra an ongoing title, or is 5/6 issues?

I'm not sure. I know the latest issue came out last week, but I don't know if it was the last or not.

y guess is it was a mini that was placeholding until the new Vader series launched.

Star Wars: Screaming Citadel #1
Image
Writer Kieron Gillen | Artist Marco Checchetto (Marvel Comics)

There’s a new five-part Star Wars crossover event on the way, this time featuring a team-up between Luke Skywalker and breakout character Doctor Aphra (from the concluded Darth Vader series and now star of her own ongoing comic). With a title like “Screaming Citadel,” it’s easy to imagine how this will deliver on the premise of being a sci-fi horror story where the reluctant partners must enter the cursed castle and confront those who lurk inside. We’re intrigued to see what out-there thrills Kieron Gillen’s famously twisted mind will come up with and how artist Marco Checchetto, now a mainstay of Marvel’s Star Wars line, will bring it to life.
