Hopefully I can get a nice 24-bit waffle dinner when I get home tonight.Birds in Hell wrote:Someone else may know better than me, but I'm doubtful they were recording 24 bit audio to DAT in 1998 - you may wish to bear that in mind when purchasing the HD-FLAC option.
I bought them regardless due to the slightly increased dynamic range that Brett seems to leave in the HD files, but that may not be worth it to some.

They should have patched the tape changes with the raw board tape like they did with Tampa 2000 and East Rutherford 2006 boots. They probably figured people would complain about a change in quality or something.wtfisaledbetter? wrote:Its mentioned on the website in the description now that Ledbetter and PMPM are missing due to tape limitations. Whomever runs PJ radio posted on that forum that they probably used DAT back then and ran out of tape or got caught doing a tape flip and Ledbetter was missed.

I'm not home so I can't check my hard drive, but do we have a decent recording floating around of this show that we can patch them with ourselves?Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:They should have patched the tape changes with the raw board tape like they did with Tampa 2000 and East Rutherford 2006 boots. Yup, and that's my only hesitation in getting this. Is the sound appreciably better on this vault show?Birds in Hell wrote: Yes, there's a decent audience source.

I'm really debating getting this thing on vinyl - the big question is....will it just sit there in the shelf, or will it get a spin or two

Weren't most DAT tapes 90 minutes or so? If they were running DAT tapes you would figure they would have just changed the tapes during the encore break.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:They should have patched the tape changes with the raw board tape like they did with Tampa 2000 and East Rutherford 2006 boots. Again, I hate to be a stickler but the bands' overall incompetence in their business practices over the past few years is enough to make one have these sorts of questions.
