There's been a bit of a resurgence in my excitement for this game after watching that new gameplay. Only 3 weeks out, really hoping the narrative delivers again....

I caved and read the leaks. For the life of me I cannot see why everyone is so EnRaGED by them. I think it will make for a more compelling, unpredictable story than what most people would have expected. If it's done well, though, of course... and every indication shows it will be done well. I'm more excited for the game.

The online video game community is full of teenagers and teenagers love bitching about stuff.

It's super ridiculous. People are saying they're not going to buy the game. "Thanks for saving us $60!!!" is being posted everywhere by these dummies. Even if you don't like the story, can't you still enjoy the fine-tuned game play? The leaked story points sound incredible, unpredictable, jaw dropping, and the message seems like it could be strong and on point. Does any body really want a predictable story that's been done a gazillion times? LOU part I's biggest charm was the shocking story.

Yeah the whole SJW angle that all these cry babies complained about was ridiculous, all completely unfounded. I was more disappointed with the way it appeared the character arcs were playing at (after reading the leaks)--I'll say no more outta respect for those who haven't caved. I've gotten over it and I'm ready to play--the game looks incredible and looks to be one of the most shockingly and realistically violent games out there. As others have more astutely put it, I need to hold judgment until I play it all the way through, the way its meant to be experienced.

Starting to get pretty hyped for this, knowing it is just 11 days away. Reviews drop a week in advance. That's a good sign.

Future Days is in this game multiple times apparently. Immediately drops the games score down a bit.

I was about to post that. Just read it in this GQ write-up. Man... this is going to be a lonnnnng game!

https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/culture/a ... -interview

After looking into gamer gate and all the backlash to progressive characters in video games, I now understand WTF is going on with all of this outrage with the spoilers. Just to reiterate, these people are idiots and this game as sure to be amazing in every way. Can't wait to play it.

Wow how did I miss a Last of Us and PJ article. Man, couldn't they have used a better song?! :haha: Cool story though, had no idea Druckman was a PJ fan, +3 for him, -2 for the song of choice.....

I've not read the spoilers but I'm marking this as a spoiler anyway (it's a theory about the use of Future Days) -
Spoiler: show
I think Joel plays Future Days on guitar, rather than the actual PJ song playing. Pretty sure the actor who plays Joel has performed this live a few times over the years.

tragabigzanda wrote:It seems that they're making the humans out to be primary enemies in this one. I wonder if/how that might effect the action sequences?
Humans make up a pretty good portion of the enemies in the first one too. I really hope there are multiple gameplay scenarios with humans AND clickers. The Left Behind DLC had a small dose of these moments and it was a nice change of pace.

There were several, that I recall. Some in the beginning, after the time jump. Some when you're playing as Ellie, some at the end of the game... actually the end of the game is pretty much all humans... jeez have you played the game, Trag?
