Most PJ stuff could be played by any other band, I hate this criticism. PJ largely play generic rock songs, they sound good because PJ plays them.
some songs are more original others are less
True. To my ears LBC and IAM are less original than this one. Different strokes.

You and I have drastically differing opinions.

Ghost and Green Disease I'd agree with you, but this song has a lot more going on then you're giving it credit for.

Cropduster, Ghost, Get Right, and Green Disease are all fantastic songs. Cropduster is definitely the best of the group though.

Put on some headphones and listen to the drums on Ghost. Matt does some really nice work on that song.

Green Disease is just a standard PJ song, to me, that I happen to really love. I dig the lyrics a lot and it's catchy as hell.

A lot of people comment on the lacking drums on Green Disease. Lots of ride in the intro and other bits. But you know what makes up for that imo? A bass drum on every beat of the bar, like in Thrash Metal. matt hasn't done that in any fast songs since and I have no idea why. It lends the song so much urgency.

For PJ, Cropduster is anything but a standard rock song.

The drums aren't enough to save Ghost for me, it's the music that does nothing for me. Not to say I hate it, I just have little desire to listen to it. I enjoy Green Disease when I hear it, but it feels like a definite B-side.

Ghost is one of those songs where I get the criticisms; it sounds tired, on the surface seems a little threadbare, a few lyrics are a little suspect, but there's just something about that song that does it. The way that chorus thinks you're leading up to a bigger moment before it takes it away from you is pretty dark.

Green Disease, on the other hand, does nothing for me. It's one of the few songs before S/T that I don't really find anything redeeming in.

there we go digster--totally in agreement :)

I think at this point both ghost and cropduster are in my riot act top 5

I am mine
save you
can't keep
ghost
cropduster

And I like 1/2 full and you are fine, I guess. And sometimes help help. that's not a lot for an album of 15 songs...

I mean, I tend to listen to whole albums. But sometimes I skip. However, Riot Act, though not my #1 favorite PJ album, is the only PJ album that I never skip around on.

LOL at the guy who thinks "Cropduster" is a "generic straightforward rocker".

Have you even listened to the song? I mean, more than just the first 5 seconds before you reach for the "skip" button?
