I have a big pot and I don't know what to plant in it. Maybe one of you green-ass thumbs can help me.
I guess I'll post a picture of it tomorrow or whenevef else my predictive text thinks is food for the week of October and November to go outside for a minute then come back in and wow that's awesome

Just ordered one of these bad-boys today. I have a row of double-knockout roses in the front that are very large / mature. But there is a big gap in them. They are all red / pink, but I love white.
Blanc Double de Coubert Hybrid Rugosa Rose
they don't have a double-bloom white knockout rose.... so I got this. Deer resistant, continuous blooming, disease resistant, winter hardy....

planted this today
oh my god its stems are so densely covered with a million syringe-sharp prickers, of all sizes. some of the large prickers look like they have small prickers on them. prickers on prickers.
so sharp and so painful
if a deer tries to eat this, he/she/they will be very, very unhappy

i wish i could do vegetables but with all the wildlife and then the bugs would basically need to grow them in a greenhouse

I pruned the hell out of my purple leaf sand cherry tree this weekend. so many tiny dead branches. so many scrapes on my hands and arms. it looks like a giant bonsai tree now though, kinda cool.
it is flowering - these are what they look like
