the guitars and organ / piano in this are *extremely* Counting Crows, and I am not mad about it

"could be thunder or a crowd" is a great place to take off into the ethereal "feel the sound"; it so easily could have seemed hammy and OTT (that review that said it is is wrong), but it's really appropriate

This one feels out of place here, but would sound great as the closing credits song from "Boys Wanna Grow Their Dicks: Pearl Jam and the Making of Gigaton."

Initial thoughts of the song: meh. The first had anyways. I can see what people meant by this doing being the most LB like.
Then the second half hits and... holy shit. It’s pretty freaking beautiful. I need to listen to this one a few more times...

what does the music at the start of this song remind me of?

One of the Christmas singles is what’s coming to mind. Title is eluding me though.

This feels like the love child of Sirens and Speed of Sound, but missed the best parts of each (two songs I really like)
Once this gets to the 'could be thunder, or a crowd' part - around 3:20, it turns into a totally different song. The final two minutes of this one are great.

2 star first half and 4 star second half means 3 stars

I don't dislike this song but it seems unnecessary if that makes sense. And it teeters damn close to adult contemporary for me. The end is pretty cool though.

Oh brother, what a weird song this is. Kinda make me laugh. I hate it and love it at the same time. Retrograde is cheese but that second half is amazing. Blue cheese I supposed. The album is full of 80's pop sensibilities.

Wish they had left this one off the album.

the music in the beginning reminds me of Wellwater Conspiracy - Felicity Surprise.
The ending is almost exactly like the end of Hard Sun.
The song sucks overall

The Phil Collins Tarzan soundtrack is absolutely amazing. This is nowhere near that
