I got your back buddy. I can't listen to Simmons. I only tune in when Chuck Klosterman is on. I also disagree with CK a lot but he's a smart dude who always gives me something interesting to think about, even when we disagree. Simmons is just an asshat. He's become intolerable.
yeah I listen when Klosterman is on too. Also Bill Hader.
Actually read a couple of Klosterman’s books after hearing him on Simmons. Love their interviews together. The books were great, too. Maybe we can hang after all. We’ll see.

I enjoyed Simmons's writing before he became an A/V personality. I just hate him in that context. He sounds like million Boston doofuses I grew up with: Not very insightful, and very bro-y.
Klosterman is great. He's really great at coming at ideas from unique angles. Makes things compelling even when you don't agree.
Have you guys listened to his new podcast, Music Exists?
I'm not seeing this in my podcast app :_(

doesn't sound like it, per se, but it leans into the structure of the song, with some of the lyrical themes weaved throughout

Agree. Does all this Simmons hate come from back in the day, or is it Boston hate? I don’t get it. He seems pretty down to earth to me. Been listening religiously last few years. I do know he got on a lot of people’s nerves back in the day when he was making a name for himself.
