As someone who is not much a fan of The National, but always checks in with them when an album is released, I think "Fake Empire" is a pretty good representative song. Maybe "England".

I think maybe this type of question is best answered by casual listeners who take a more macro approach, instead of megafans who tend to get super granular.

I think I’d take There, There (written during the Kid A sessions by the way) or Optimistic.

'Optimistic' is a good one for Radiohead. 'Paranoid Android' kinda has it all, though.

Yeah but it's representative of where they've gone with their sound. Plus it has a little of the old sound.

Other than The Decemberists, who are not music but rather garbage.
I love Decemberists, but this made me guffaw.

I’d go with Crane Wife 1 & 2, maybe.
