There's a chick here, Kate Miller Heidke. She was our Eurovision entrant a few years ago.

She's classically trained and has just released an album this year. EVERYTHING sounds the same on it.

I think she qualifies.

Halsey, I don't think so. She does this super-throaty, breathy thing but doesn't go full Indie Girl Voice.

Also not hearing it in Mendes. Maybe you have a better example?

This is the Halsey song I was thinking about. She's pretty borderline doing it a lot in the song, but then around 2:08 she says "carves into my hollow chest" but says it like "cheist".

It is too bad because I love the music in that song, but then her vocals take me out of it.
