It's not Stone. There's a very interesting interview with Stone from around the time "Lightning Bolt" came out (can't remember with who) where he basically says "Yeah we probably got a little carried away railing against Bush incessantly for all those years." I don't think he was dialing back the band's opinions any just saying maybe putting a mask of his head on a mic stand and generally trotting his likeness around in effigy on stage was kinda over the top and counter-productive.

We really haven't heard anything from "anti-war" Ed since Obama which is odd given all the war and saber rattling and droning.

Ed's the most political. I think Jeff is the most SJW. Stone is the hippie environmental liberal. I feel like Matt/Mike are kinda just like "OK yeah, sure we believe that too."
