I'm ready for a second cup at the moment but might steep this bag of matcha instead. so-so matcha in front of me, or expensive but nice coffee down the street?
Yep, coffeee free for essentially all of 2021.

I just picked up a container of some ceremonial stuff cut with brown rice tea. I would have preferred pure matcha powder, but the price for this quantity was too good to pass up. Should make like 32 cups...
Aside from the occasional espresso on errands, I've been off coffee caffeine for about a month now.

This is what I found. Never have seen it at any of my local grocers, but some random health food store had it so I figured I'd try it.
Usually I buy this stuff

Gonna do some matcha in another hour or so myself.
I had an iced matcha earlier. Keeping me going this afternoon for sure.
Eternally grateful for the genmaicha introduction. Thanks, pal.

Mixing matcha with topo chico mineral water or waterloo pineapple sparkling water has been an absolute jam lately. Is this a common thing or did I just invent your new favorite tea? When you pour the whisked matcha into the carbonated water and the green stuff bubbles and froths at the top, it's just such a sensory spectacle.

Yo trag, I was reading endurance fuel reviews and came across this matcha powder stuff reviewed by Outside Bozeman.

I am skeptical too, except that those ingredients are engineered to metabolize fast and get the carbs and caffeine to you without digestive issues. Fuel you will burn through on a run with double digit mileage.
Trust me, there's much scarier stuff out there. And you can't exactly consume and quickly digest a bagel with peanut butter and banana 45 minutes into a run.

Basically, I'm in the market for some as close to natural as I can get gel/powder to experiment with before a race in March and the matcha caffeine in this stuff piqued my interest. It comes highly recommended by a lot of running/ultra reviewers I read and an RM search of the stuff includes glowing endorsement from the cardio crowd in the running thread.
Still, I'd rather just run on raisins and chia but I'm open to trying out the high octane stuff if it gets the job done more efficiently.
