But certainly if you just want it out there self-publishing is an increasingly popular route and there's something to be said about your work being in the world rather than just on your compy.

Wouldn’t it be “out there” in a sense if it has agent representation?

Totally. But good luck getting some poor slob out there to represent my shit, y'know? If it was that easy to get an agent, I'd have 15 of them!

It's all tied to this poor shithead named Durden's desire to buy a house one day, Bammer. Keep up!

Yeah and I know you know that, I just meant for wease. My wife doesn't have an agent yet either fwiw, so it's definitely not easy.

Joey, would you be willing to leave NYC? That seems like the first obstacle.

Like I said before, I'm willing to leave, yes. But I don't know what I'd do for work elsewhere. I make way more money here in a box office than the job deserves, frankly.
NYC is the only place I've ever lived where I'm not paycheck to paycheck, oddly enough.

These days is probably easier to self publish, build a following, and use that as social proof to attract an agent, then have them sell it to a publisher, then movie deal.
See? Easy!

Or move to California and become a staff writer and work your way up from there.
A child could do it it's so easy.

Have you ever partied at the Viper Room?
never walked in..had a few drinks at the whiskey..we've been here for about 12 years now and the only time we would ever head to hollywood was tower records before they closed and amoeba records..and a few restaurants..funny thing is my wife's office is in west hollywood but she only goes in about 2x a month if that
