Jesus, I can't imaging the anxiety I would have if I worried about sound quality this much. Kudos to you guys that have that good of an ear for this stuff.

It's wild just how much the sound signature of a pair of headphones changes when you replace the ear pads. Upgraded the pads on my Mezes to a nice set of velour pads and everything sounds much warmer and smoother.

It's not even one of those "subtle enough that it might just be my brain tricking me" things, the difference is obvious and immediately noticeable

I might have to buy something like that for my beats headphones.

Im also thinking about buying a new pair...some recs? nothing super expensive though.

It's a cliche at this point but my answer is the ATH M50x. If you're coming from Beats, they're the best entry-level option. Great everyday closed-back headphones at an affordable price. There's a bluetooth version too.

300 to 500 max maybe? im not really a headphones kind of guy, i use apple on the street and every know and then i use the beats at home, i like them fine because of how good the bass sounds.

I also have some bluetooth ones i barely used, i got them from an ad commercial and left them at my previous office until we moved them and now they are home.

i could try them someday.
