That's probably taking things too far, unless you're buying a prepackaged bag of apples.

I hope that this thread continues with discussion of a bunch of different scenarios, but also a continuing subplot where Peeps just keeps talking about the trash thing

I was asked to volunteer for the little league fundraiser. Basically that means help plan it, invite people, solicit donations, set up pre-event, help with whatever needs helping the night of the event. It’s a poker tournament, silent auction, live auction, and raffle.

I personally donated a week of my timeshare, come to find out in past years a similar item has been the top seller at the live auction. It’s going to be worth probably at least $3,000 for the winning bid.

So the Evite goes out, you can RSVP to play poker ($XXX) or just attend as a non poker player ($YY). I signed in “Yes” on the evite, because I volunteered to be there and help. I won’t be playing poker.

The main guy running the thing has now included me in both emails and texts asking Yes RSVP’s to pay for their ticket.

AITA for thinking I don’t need to pay for a ticket for myself?

No, but you'll be the asshole if you argue about it.

Everyone always thinks they aren't the asshole if they're right. That's not how being an asshole works.

Exactly.

NTA and you absolutely have to just make sure everyone understands that your payment is the donation of the timeshare itself.

Communication is important.

<Edit> And it turns out reading is hard. I thought the poker was going to be played at your timeshare, didn't understand the poker and your timeshare donations are 2 different things. I change my mind - YTA. Pay up, bud.

You should pay and then quickly time share once someone wins it
