Why can’t there be a Mr Marvel, amirite?

It will be funny when the first (and male and best) Captain Marvel saves them all.

That's a plotline from All-New, All-Different Avengers, Annual #1.

Two groups being wrong at the same time doesn't necessarily mean that the truth is "in the middle" of both of them. That there exist groups of toxic woman-haters ready to downvote anything with a woman in it and that giant corporations like Disney commodify diversity and allyship in pursuit of the bottom line are not opposing ideas. They actually fit very neatly together!

Disney being disingenuous about their allyship is not equal to incels being ingenuous about their hate.

Which is more impactful/worse?

An amoral company pretending to be moral vs. hatemongers? We'll have to call in an ethicist.

Yeah. Which is worse?

A giant multinational corporation cynically exploiting issues and controversy for money vs. a small group of almost definitionally irrelevant and low power people complaining about marvel movies online?

You might want to call that ethicist.

The only thing stopping hordes of hatemongering nazi incels from attacking Disney princesses in the streets is our plucky rebel B in his trusty X-Wing. He's the real hero of the story.

Growing up many of my favorite action properties were fronted by woman. The main reason I often gravitated to those movies and TV shows was a real feeling of peril. The deck was really stacked against them physically and there was something truly frightening when a woman was in a fight and it wasn't going well for her that wasn't there with say a Sylvester Stallone vehicle. Now though there seems to be extreme reluctance to show a woman in a disadvantaged state in action movies. They aren't able to just hang with the guys, they aren't as good as the guys they are better than the guys. Every movie has that scene were the heroine is taking on a dozen guys three times her size while she stares straight ahead with a slightly bored face and dispatches all of them without looking at them. What is that? I guarantee you'll get multiple scenes in the Marvels where that happens. What's the point if they are perfect? Even in the last Predator movie which I think did a better job than most Naru was a least scared but she took a shot right to the face by the Predator and popped right up ready for more. In the original Dutch went flying ten feet in the air was dazed and looked back at the Predator like he was gonna shit himself. I don't know. I have no problem with female superheroes I just wish they were allowed to be more interesting.

Equal how? I don't know how to measure that. I think they're both pretty bad. I think a corporation manipulating fans into defending their product by weaponizing the language of social justice is pretty repugnant. And the woman-hating dweebs are bad for obvious reasons. But what I was saying is they probably cancel each other out in terms of their effect on the box office, which is what I'm most interested in.

new trailer is out. Im thinking Marvel knows this one is shit.

Also, im convinced that Brie Larson is 100% cgi in here. She looks dead.
